Waitarere - Our Past and Our People
Waitārere - Our Past and Our People is more than a history book. It is a celebration of the people, places and stories that have shaped our community over generations. Through historic photographs, personal memories and local history, the book captures the unique character of Waitārere Beach and preserves it for future generations.
The publication of this book has been proudly supported by the Waitārere Beach Development Association Inc. (WBDA), the development division of the Waitārere Beach Progressive & Ratepayers Association Inc. (WBPRA).
The WBDA is a volunteer-led organisation dedicated to enhancing and promoting Waitārere Beach through community projects, events, and initiatives that benefit both residents and visitors while helping preserve the unique character of our coastal community.
Every purchase of this book helps support that vision. Proceeds from book sales are reinvested into future community projects, ensuring that while this book preserves our past, it also helps build the future of Waitārere Beach for generations to come.
