This book is a labour of love, created through the dedication and hard work of our beach community. Compiled by Glen and Robin Sinclair, Susan Wilks, and the late Peter Wright with his wife Vivien - respected members of our community - this book offers a heartfelt and authentic portrayal of our shared history.

Waitarere – Our Past and Our People is more than just a historical account; it captures the essence of our community both past and present. It pays tribute to the people who have shaped Waitarere, the clubs and organizations they have established, and the businesses and services that have served our area since its early settlement. This beautifully curated collection of photographs, personal stories, and historical records reflects the evolution of this much loved part of Horowhenua.

Spanning approximately 160 pages in an A4 landscape format, this book is a treasured keepsake for anyone with a connection to Waitarere Beach.
