WAITARERE BEACH DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
Approximately five years ago, the Waitārere Beach community established a new association operating independently from, yet in relation to, the Waitārere Beach Progressive and Ratepayers Association (WBPRA). This new entity maintains a tax-exempt status and shares membership, officers, and a management committee with the WBPRA. Notably, its Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are held concurrently with those of the WBPRA.

Objectives of the Association:
- Enhance Local Amenities: Strive to improve the facilities and overall appeal of the Waitārere Beach Township and its surrounding areas.
- Foster Community Relations: Promote and nurture positive relationships among the Association, the local community, and the Council.
- Acquire Property Interests: Secure legal interests in properties or rights deemed necessary or beneficial for achieving the Association's goals and advancing member interests.
- Pursue Funding Opportunities: Seek financial support from governmental bodies, philanthropic trusts, gaming trusts, and service organizations.
- Support Community Organizations: Assist and collaborate with other community groups requiring aid or integration.
- Implement Enhancement Projects: Undertake initiatives, independently or in partnership with Councils, aimed at beautifying and improving the community's well-being and attracting tourists and visitors.
- Conduct Social and Fundraising Activities: Organize events and fundraising efforts, and encourage other community groups to do the same.
- Manage Association Funds: Utilise resources to cover costs associated with promoting and achieving the Association's objectives, including property maintenance and necessary legal services.
This association plays a vital role in the continuous development and enrichment of the Waitārere Beach community, ensuring a thriving environment for both residents and visitors.
